Our speaker today is Jim Davidson, with Speaking of Adventure. 

As a climber for 36 years, and as a high-altitude expedition leader, Jim is an expert in resilience. 

Jim has been on successful ascents from Argentina to Tibet, and from Bolivia to Nepal.  Along the way, he and his teammates have been commended twice by the US National Park Service for volunteering for successful high-altitude rescues. 

Jim has shared his intense experiences on TV with CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, PBS, and more. In addition, his survival story was made into an episode of the international TV show, "I Shouldn't Be Alive".

His amazing survival tale and the lessons he learned from it are shared in his co-authored New York Times best-selling book called, The LedgeThe Ledge was selected as one of the Best Books of The Year by Amazon.  

Jim has two grown children.  He lives in Colorado with his wife of 29 years, who is a very, very tolerant woman!

Jim Davidson is a resilience expert, an expedition leader, and a New York Times best-selling author.  From his 36 years of adventure and survival, Jim distills compelling stories and uplifting lessons about how to overcome change, challenge, and uncertainty through resilience.  

He shares motivating keynotes and workshops on personal resilience, resilient teamwork, and resilient leadership. Jim has scaled high peaks from Argentina to Nepal, from Bolivia to Tibet. The US National Park Service has commended Jim twice for volunteering for successful high-altitude rescues in Colorado and Alaska.

While first attempting to ascend Mt. Everest in 2015, Jim and his partners survived massive earthquakes and avalanches. He shared his incredible experiences and insights with CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, Smithsonian Channel, PBS and more. Jim returned to Everest in 2017 and summited safely.

For 20 years. Jim worked as a hydrogeologist (B.S. & M.S. degrees) and ran his own environmental consulting firm.  Earlier he worked as an industrial painter on high-voltage electrical towers carrying 230,000 volts.

Jim co-authored the New York Times best-selling survival memoir, The Ledge: An Inspirational Story of Friendship and SurvivalThe Ledge won the National Outdoor Book Award for Outdoor Literature and was picked one of the Best Books of the Year by Amazon.  His epic survival story was featured in an international TV episode of "I Shouldn't Be Alive" on the Discovery Channel. 

AV Requirements

For the program, Speaker will provide: - laptop - wireless advancer - props - postcard handouts - Presentation direct from his laptop (PC using Windows 10, PowerPoint from Office 365 with videos embedded, video output via VGA or HDMI, audio output mini-plug jack. Do NOT need internet access). For the program, Client and/or venue will provide: - an appropriate meeting room that can be darkened to project images - an elevated stage (the bigger the better) - 2-port switch box to connect Jim’s laptop at same time as the house laptop - projector (SVGA+ resolution or better that is 3,000 lumens or more) - audio connection for laptop to house sound system - lightweight headset wireless microphone (ex: Countryman) or wireless lavaliere microphone connected to house sound system - large white projection screen - large foot screen or “confidence monitor” facing the stage, showing what is onscreen - power cord/power strip with two (2) power outlets - a cloth-draped table (approx. 6 feet x 3 feet) on stage for props - a cloth-draped table (approx. 6 feet x 3 feet) in the back of the speaking room for selling & signing Jim's book, "The Ledge", and two (2) chairs. Please note: Jim will arrive at the event a minimum of 60 minutes before speaking. For large audiences or depending upon the schedule, he may need to be there hours in advance. Back
